And the beat goes on.  Ralph Barrera, photo journalist of the Austin American-Statesman, posted this picture of Vanda Purvis, aka “Bambi”,  on the Statesmen photoblog,, called Collective Vision (click here to see full screen photo).

She is pictured at Twin Peaks Round Rock Restaurant with one of the signature dishes – pulled pork nachos.  Sorry guys, but if you look close, you can see an engagement ring on her finger.   Lucky guy.

In the meantime, we are enjoying the view of the peaks.

On Aug 29th, the Austin American Statesmen did a follow up story on her, written by Isadora Vail, which can be read in it’s entirety here. In it she said that the incident was funny and that they “took the necessary precautions” by making sure it was unloaded.  Isadora writes “She’s already had an interview with the television show “Inside Edition,” and she even got a call of interest from Playboy. Purvis said she hasn’t given the latter much thought because she is engaged and doesn’t find it appropriate, especially since she wants to have children…..Purvis said she thinks the firing of the deputy was excessive, but she doesn’t regret having the picture taken. “It’s amazing how 30 seconds can change someone’s life,” Purvis said.”
